Trolovol – Penicillamine Tablet
Description
PENICILLAMINE (TROLOVOL) TABLET – TREATMENT FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
Trolovol also reduces the amount of cystine discharge in cystinuria. This is accomplished, at least in part, through disulfide exchange between Trolovol and cystine, resulting in the formation of penicillamine-cysteine disulfide, a substance that is significantly more solvent than cysteine and is rapidly discharged.
Trolovol has been shown to be effective in the treatment of Wilson’s disease, and cystinuria, and in patients with severe, dynamic rheumatoid joint inflammation who have failed to respond to a satisfactory preliminary of standard treatment. Trolovol isn’t useful in ankylosing spondylitis, according to available evidence.
