IRINOTECAM (CAMPTO) INJECTION – TREATMENT FOR CANCER OF COLON AND RECTUM
Colon and rectum cancers are treated with Campto injection. By halting or reducing the development of cancer cells, it demonstrates its effectiveness.
By use of an IV infusion into a vein, a trained medical expert administers Campto Injection. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of administration for you. This is based on the condition you are being treated for and is subject to change.

HOW IRINOTECAM (CAMPTO) INJECTION WORKS
An anti-cancer drug is Campto injection. It functions by reducing the activity of an enzyme (topoisomerase I) necessary for the cancer cells’ DNA replication. As a result, cancer cells finally perish and their proliferation is slowed.

- Fatigue
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Weakness
- Hair loss
- Fever
- Anemia (low number of red blood cells)
- Diarrhea
- Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils)
- Decreased appetite

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS
- Driving
Campto Injections may cause side effects that impair your ability to drive.
Campto Injection may cause fatigue. This may impair your driving ability.
- Kidney
Campto Injection is safe for patients with kidney disease to use. There is no need to adjust the dose of Campto Injection.
- Pregnancy
Campto Using injections during pregnancy may be dangerous. Although there have been few human studies, animal studies have shown that it is harmful to the developing baby. Before prescribing it to you, your doctor will weigh the benefits against any potential risks. Please consult your doctor.
