Bleomycin Injection is a medication used to treat cancer in numerous regions of the body, including the cervix, mouth, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses, larynx, esophagus, and skin. It acts by inhibiting the development of cancer cells, causing them to die.
How Bleomycin Injection is used?
Bleomycin Injection can be used alone or in conjunction with other medications as part of combination therapy. It is administered by a healthcare expert and should not be self-administered. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose and frequency of administration. This will vary depending on what you are being treated for and may alter over time. You should take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Taking it incorrectly or in excess can result in serious negative effects.
Common Side Effects of the Injection
The most common side effects of this medication are fever, lack of appetite, hair loss, weight loss, nausea, lung inflammation (interstitial pneumonia), shortness of breath, or cough. Inform your doctor if they do not go away or worsen. There may be techniques to prevent or mitigate these effects.
