ARTESUNATE (ARTECAN) INJECTION – TREATMENT OF MALARIA
ARTESUNATE (ARTECAN) is an anti-malarial drug that is primarily used to treat malaria. Malaria is a parasitic disease caused by the plasmodium parasite and spread through the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitos. When an infected mosquito bites a healthy person, the ‘Plasmodium parasite’ is transmitted into the bloodstream, affecting red blood cells and liver cells. It kills the parasites by forming harmful chemicals within the malarial parasite.
